Graduation Portraits At Santa Clara University

Natalie’s Graduation Portraits At Santa Clara University

Graduating college is a big accomplishment. And like all other great accomplishments, it should be followed up with pictures 🙂 Here are some of the fun and candid graduation portraits at Santa Clara University. As well as three tips to consider when scheduling your session.

Bring A Friend Along With You

One of the best tips I can give someone looking to schedule graduation portraits is to bring a friend along with you. It can be a significant other, sibling, friend, or even a parent. I like to use them to get you to pose and smile naturally. For example, I may ask your friend to describe something about you. In my experience, friends and family are a little better at getting you to open up and be candid in front of the camera. Some of the images will be of you looking right into the camera. However, a good portion of them will be of you acting natural and unposed. I believe these are the best types of images 🙂

Make Sure A Permit Is Not Required

One thing to consider is that a lot of locations require a photo permit to be able to take pictures there. Santa Clara University actually requires a photo permit – but since it was graduation they did not enforce this policy. The best thing to do is to check the venues website. The worst thing is to show up to a location and be asked to leave. And more venues require a photo permit than you’d believe!

ALWAYS Schedule Your Session In The Evening

Last but not least, I recommend scheduling your graduation portraits in the evening. The evening is the best time of the day to take outdoor portraits. At this time of the day, the lighting is vibrant, soft and flattering – which is ideal for portraits 😉

Hopefully these examples of Natalie’s graduation portraits at Santa Clara University have given you some ideas on scheduling your own session 😉 Thanks!
